Attention Taxpayers of Preston County

According to WV Code §11-1C-7 the Assessor’s Office Appraisal Staff will be going door to door for our real estate property re-valuation. Appraisers Shannan Holleran, Josh Waugh, along with Data Collectors Darren Hall & Heatherlee Sulick, are working in the field and will be checking for new construction, sales and transfers.

Visitation to the Preston County areas of Portland, Lyon, Reno & Union Districts and Newburg Corp by Shannan Holleran’s team and Bruceton Mills and Brandonville Corps, along with Grant & Pleasant Districts, by Josh Waugh’s team will be expected during the months of July and August 2026.

Commercial Appraiser, Jesse Hale, along with Data Collector, Kelly Hartman will also be out in the field doing appraisals in Mobile Home Parks.

Vehicles will be clearly marked with our office name, phone number, with county license plates and each employee will have an ID card.

They will be knocking on doors and leaving door hangers for information concerning your property improvements.
